To give practical support and advice to visually impaired people and their families on social, health, financial, domestic and personal matters.
Why the community needs usLife without support for visually impaired individuals can be extremely isolating. We offer a Telephone Befriending Service and have Community Workers visiting people in their homes. We facilitate visually impaired people meeting together for social, educational, self-help and other purposes, clubs, outings and holidays. We offer specialist training in IT and Braille. We arrange exhibitions where specialist suppliers of aids display their wares and we refer to outside agencies where necessary.
Our impact on the communityVisually impaired people are enabled to live independent lives in their own homes and are supported by having new opportunities outside of the home to lead an active and fulfilling life.
