The festival strives to entertain, inspire and inform through the organisation of an annual festival accessible to the wider community. We programme over 100 events each year in a variety of formats such as talks, debates, exhibitions, comedy events, film, music, theatre, workshops, seminars, and walking tours. Strictly non partisan, we aim to entertain not pontificate! We don't receive any core funding so are reliant on small grants and ticket receipts. so we appreciate any donations, no matter how small!

Our impact on the community
In 2024 over 20,000 people enjoyed our 130 in-person and virtual events. For our next festival during 24 -30 March 2025, we want to exceed these targets now that arguably it's never been more important for people to engage with the big issues of our times and facilitate constructive discussion and debate. Donations help us to subsidise our event costs and allow people free entry. With no office and low admin costs, we can ensure that any donations make a real difference.
