The festival strives to entertain, inspire and inform through the organisation of an annual festival accessible to the wider community. We programme over 100 events each year in a variety of art forms such as talks, debates, exhibitions, comedy, film, music, theatre, workshops, seminars, kids events and walking tours. We also organise the Artivist Academy - a training programme for campaigners and event managers and collaborate with other festivals and agencies. Strictly non partisan, we aim to entertain not pontificate! We don't receive any core funding from the Arts Council NI or Belfast City Council so are reliant on small grants and ticket receipts. We hope to run our normal festival during 22-28 March 2021.Having lost ticket income and incurred extra costs for this project, we would appreciate any donations, no matter so small. Why the community needs us
The festival provides a learning platform for people interested in ideas & politics. Most of our events are freeOur impact on the community
In 2019 over 8,250 people attended our 150+ events. In March 2021, we want to exceed these targets when arguably it has never been more important for people to engage with the big issues of our times and facilitate constructive discussion and debate. Donations help us to subsidise our event costs and allow people free entry. Your help also allows us to reduce the cost of our training events. With no staff, office and low admin costs, we can ensure that any donations make a real difference.
