We want everyone with learning disabilities to enjoy life and achieve as much as they can, to do this: - We provide services and support to enable people with learning disabilities to develop their potential for living full and independent lives - Our services and support are provided with respect for each individual and their needs, valuing their strengths - People with learning disabilities are part of the design, delivery and management of our services
Why the community needs us
Rooted in the local community at the International Community Centre we provide opportunities to be more involved in the community for people with learning disabilities and also for people in the community who volunteer with us. Our charity shop recycles, providing a resource for local people and a place to have work experience for those with learning disabilities. We promote Choice, Being Part of the Community, Experiencing New Things Being Safe, Staying Healthy, Communication and Respect.
Our impact on the community
Inspire improves the lives of people with learning disabilities by providing a range of activities to develop confidence, make friends, be part of the community, improve health & fitness, get their views known, have social outings, learn independent living and money management, prepare for volunteering and work. Our support also relieves pressure for carers who get a break. Volunteers who support us also get a lot of experience, learn new skills, gain qualifications and become more employable.
