InterAct offers a regular programme of social and recreational experiences to enrich the lives of children and young people with learning disabilities and additional needs. Our fabulous calendar of vibrant social and recreational activities is jam packed with colour, excitement and opportunity, benefitting over 250 members.
Activities are designed to be both enjoyable and interesting; crafts, music, cookery, and health and wellbeing to name a few. Giving children and young people an opportunity to share interests and connect with others of a similar age, whilst learning new skills and benefitting from a full and active lifestyle. Helping children and young people to forge lasting friendships, develop new skills and integrate into mainstream life.
We also promote positive mental health - reducing stigma through education, and increasing support in communities. Offering a range of bespoke and off the shelf training for young people and adults linked to emotional, mental health and wellbeing including: Mental Health First Aid, Mental Health Awareness, Managing Mental Health in the Workplace, and Resilience.
Supported by our amazing volunteers we strive for a community where people of all abilities experience respect, acceptance and inclusion - where differences are celebrated. Allowing every individual to contribute in their own way and reach their full potential, becoming valued members of the community.
