Islington Law Centre tackles poverty and helps people to uphold their rights in a range of areas of social welfare law. We offer free, independent and specialist help to people who could not afford to pay a lawyer, and seek to change unfair policy and practice.
Why the community needs usWe provide help with small claims and consumer matters through our pro bono evening clinics, and our daytime services help with debt, education, employment, housing, immigration and asylum and welfare benefits issues. We brought in over £2 million pounds for local residents last year as well as helping secure positive outcomes in a range of cases.
Our impact on the communityOver 5,000 people a year approach us for help, and we have a live caseload of over 1,500 cases at any one time. We have a high success rate at court and in tribunals and seek to ensure that there is justice for all.
