Leeds | Counselling, Advice & Mentoring
The Visitor's centre is here to provide friendly and independent support, advice and healthy activities for families of prisoners, prisoners and the local community. We work in partnership with HMP Leeds but are an entirely independent charity. We work in the Armley Ward geographically, but serve all of West Yorkshire. We have 34,037 visitors a year who benefit.
Why the community needs usGovernor Paul Baker -HMP Leeds "Jigsaw have placed themselves firmly at the centre of HMP Leeds Rehabilitation Revolution. They are no longer simply a 'nice to have' but are a 'need to have'. They work with families in such a way that they are playing a critical role in reducing reoffending. They should be enormously proud of everything they achieve."
Our impact on the communityHere are some of the responses from visitors, Prisoners and Prison Officers given in our 2012 evaluation."It is important to have this intermediate...This is like a half-way house this place, rather than just going into the prison." "Jigsaw are very considerate, very aware of your needs. They don't judge you." " I think they are an important part of the prison . They're are the first port of call for the visitors coming in "
