As a social enterprise Joining Communities helps families, children and individuals who are on low income to establish more economic stability. Targeting those who are most financially challenged and suffering from deprivation and poverty; we help them identify ways to generate sustainable income, learn and raise their skills level leading to a healthier lifestyle and greater wellbeing.

People from the most disadvantaged communities will be equipped with life skills and learn about ways to move towards learning and qualifications to support their ambitions. People will be more fulfilled as they move towards their ambitions, finding opportunities to gain employment or build an enterprise; raising levels of income leading to a greater quality of life. Benefits will encourage communities to support the health and well being of families and those around them.

We envisage a significant reduction in the worklessness, in the longer term and increase in the economic value of the borough, having aided new enterprise and employment. Within the context of worklessness this provides valuable opportunities for work placements or experience within the organisation, for example giving people with learning disabilities the chance to own and run a service they use or are employed by.
