After our hugely successful initial event in April 2017 at Somerdale Pavilion which involved various local groups (about 50 people helping), had about 100 visitors & launched our kindness couches & #kindness_connects wristbands. We also held an event on Keynsham High Street in November 2017. This year we're doing daily #kindness themes especially promoted on our facebook page Kind Keynsham & Twitter feed @keynshamaction & we set up a Suspended Coffees scheme with local cafes
Why they need our serviceKindness is always needed, especially in our current social climate of media-induced fear and gloom. Various national and international initiatives are tackling this and we want to start a local campaign. Kindness is free and easy! This is a simple campaign to spread small acts of kindness to make our town a kinder place involving all age groups so everyone feels they belong are valued. We hope our Kind Keynsham 'brand' will be adopted by local groups to help make Keynsham the first 'Kind Town'
Plan and expected resultsWe will continue to encourage acts of kindness via our Kind Keynsham page & Twitter feed and hope to involve people in our daily #kindness themes using #kindness_connects to help spread the word. We will help people to connect, especially more isolated people and will share stories of positivity & kindness, using our social media & website, so that all age groups will feel more connected and valued. We will also connect with other organisations around the world who are spreading kindness
