Kingston Eco-op is a small, local project helping vulnerable adults who feel socially isolated, often due to mental health or learning difficulties. We provide opportunities for them to build self-confidence, be social and learn new skills. Through education, job skill development, physical activity, arts activity and mental well-being support, we help each individual to meet their own personal targets and feel that they are part of something meaningful.
Why the community needs us
Adults who feel socially isolated increase their well-being by being part of our community, reducing levels of depression and risk of disease. The value of feeling safe and being with people that you trust to help you has enormous immeasurable benefits.
Our impact on the community
Kingston Eco-op currently supports 40 community members who come to the project every week. Each individual has their own goals, such as completing a course in English, losing weight, or learning social skills, and we structure activities to encourage progress.
Building connections
We thank all of our amazing volunteers who offer their time to make our project a more fun and interesting place to visit. Our volunteer programme support community volunteers, student placements and activity volunteers.
