We want to make sure that Bristol is an inclusive and innovative city, where people of all ages and backgrounds have equal access to opportunities and are empowered to create the change they want to see, so no one is left behind. Since 1996 we've been based in an area in South Bristol that faces significant challenges in education and employment. We work with residents, organisations, artists and technology experts to co-design creative and innovative solutions to these issues.

Why the community needs us

We provide opportunities for people to learn new skills, develop confidence and become more active in their community. We do this through our young people's programme, drop in computer classes and training sessions and our new digital manufacturing space, KWMC: The Factory. The majority of our activities are free to attend and local residents are actively involved in shaping our programme.

Our impact on the community

In the last five years we've helped young people go on to further education, training and employment, supported 1,466 people of all ages and backgrounds to learn a skill they didn't know before, and enabled the development of 9 new enterprises. One participant described KWMC as helping to "carve [her] future" while a former volunteer described the impact we've had for her, saying "[KWMC is] a great place to regain your confidence and make you feel like you've made a difference."
