Koco Community Resource Centre aims to use all available resources in ensuring that we can effectively improve the employability, social mobility, social inclusion, financial and general well-being of communities in Coventry; Regardless of age,Gender, disability, race, religion, sexuality.
Why the community needs usMemory related disorders, social exclusion and unemployment are widely recognised as issues affecting all sections of our community. In response we are currently delivering a project to help people develop business ideas and in partnership with People Point provide a volunteers club and a drop in service assisting people to complete complex formal documents. We have identified a need for community based reminiscence programmes and have begun to deliver these in local community homes.
Our impact on the communityOur enterprise group has received positive feedback and since starting late last year has supported three individuals in operating businesses. Our advisory drop-in sessions are attended by people from across the city and we have helped them to engage effectively with statutory organisations in resolving the presenting issues. Our reminance classes has received support from the Walsgrave hospital, Headway Trust and the Alzheimer's Society
