We help and support children and adults with learning disabilities, along with their families, carers and dependants - long term. We do this through a huge range of learning and leisure services and activities to help improve our beneficiaries' quality of life and to help them live the life they want to lead.
Why the community needs usWe currently work with over 300 families from across Leeds each week and provide vital support, services and advice they desperately need. We do this through a range of activities, including; Youth Clubs, Friday Club for 18-25's, Me2 - an inclusive dance project for young people, play schemes, a Parent/Carer Support Project, a Siblings group, the Rookery residential home and the Hawthorn Centre for under 3's. We also work with the local community to improve awareness about learning disabilities.
Our impact on the communityThrough accessing our services individuals will develop at a faster rate, achieve more and have better opportunities in future life. They will also have an improved quality of life and be happier and healthier.'Life-line' is a term that is regularly used to describe our services and we have seen many of our beneficiaries transform into more confident, able individuals and this is something we aim for each individual, whom we work with to help fulfil their personal goals and ambitions.
