Our Crisis Assessment Referral and Diversity Service (CARDS) advocates for local 16-25 year olds. The project supports people of different backgrounds including nationality, ethnicity, sexuality etc. Many clients have severe, multiple and complex needs, short and long term. Clients are at risk of homelessness and sexual, psychological/ emotional, financial and gang exploitation. Some have left care or prison. Some also have learning difficulties and/or disabilities. We hold 2 drop-ins per week.
Why the community needs us
To promote any charitable purposes including the preservation of health and relief of poverty distress and sickness in particular for the benefit of the homeless, the mentally ill in Manchester. Supporting young people to access Healthcare Services including mental health, addiction support, sexual health, physical health and dental health, Housing information, Welfare/benefits information, Budgeting and debt relief advice, education, training and job seeking/support and relationship support.
Our impact on the community
We have 100s of monthly appointments with about 10 young people accessing service each day, we have 100s of young clients. Clients say they have had Practical and emotional help with Managing Money, Drugs and Alcohol, Physical health, Emotional and mental health, Meaningful use time, Tenancy and accommodation, Offending and Self care/Living skills and one client rated Social/family networks and relationships. We provide Role models to increase aspiration and social conscience.
