
The Haslemere Festival is a limited company and registered charity, established in 2003. The objects of the Haslemere Festival are to promote and advance education particularly by the encouragement of the arts, including music, drama, painting, literature and the visual arts. The Haslemere Fringe Festival aims to celebrate, promote and give voice to new creativity, showcase existing talent and provide a platform for sustainable and alternative culture including all ages and sexes.
Why the community needs usBy working with the youth of the area and promoting their musical and artistic ability, we intend to inspire their peers and show them that the community is inclusive of all.In addition, there will be opportunities for participants of all ages and interests to engage with other members of the community, learning communication skills, expanding horizons, and creating new bonds of respect and community commitment.
Our impact on the communityIn 2014 Haslemere Fringe Festival, was attended by nearly 7,000 people - an incredible number for a new event in a town of 15,000 inhabitants! It was fantastic to see so many people enjoying performances and workshops in music, visual arts, literature, comedy, poetry, drama and much more.The Fringe has proved that there is an apetite for original and contemporary creative art in Haslemere and we are now responding to that demand.
