Long Sutton School Swimming Pool Committee is a group of volunteer parents who are committed to raising enough money to replace the existing swimming pool that has come to the end of its life
Why the community needs usThere are 115 pupils attending Long Sutton School. In addition to the pool serving exisiting and future pupils we are looking to open the pool for use of the local community outside of school-time. We feel that learning to swim is an essential life skill for all children. Due to our rural location we are so near to so many waterways that could pose a high risk to a non-swimming child. The new pool will be easily accessible for users with limited mobility.
Our impact on the communityThe current pool has come to the end of its life. By building a new teaching pool with modern operating facilities this will enable us to both reduce our running costs and improve the environmental efficiency of the pool. Our goal is to enable every child at the school and local community to learn to swim and embrace an important life skill. Specifically, each child who leaves Long Sutton C of E school has at least learnt to swim 25m and begun to learn the basics of personal survival.
