Situated on the renowned World Heritage Site of the Jurassic Coast, Lyme Regis Gig Club is an ocean rowing club which offers the rapidly growing sport of Cornish Pilot Gig Rowing to the community.

The aim of the club is to offer the sport of Cornish Pilot Gig Rowing to anybody who wishes to try ocean rowing, and by doing so, encouraging fitness and spirit within the community. If you are interested in making some new friends, seeing Lyme Bay from a different perspective, getting a bit fitter and possibly participating in organised racing regattas in Dorset, Devon and Cornwall, get in touch.

The Gig Club has 3 beautiful wooden boats, Rebel, Black Ven and Tempest; all built by local boat builder Gail McGarva here in Lyme Regis, along with Daring and Prospero, the clubs two GRP training boats. We also have two 15ft sea skiffs, a wooden skiff Gale Force and her GRP sister Storm Force for young rowers between eight and twelve years of age. Starting in 2023 we are commissioning a new racing gig, to be built at the Lyme Regis Boat Building Academy, for our competitive crews.

The Club also offers members SeaFit, a year round, dry-land training facility equipped with ergo rowing machines and weights.

The Club is run by volunteers and relies on membership fees, sponsorship and donations to provide the best possible equipment and experience at a cost that is accessible to all.

Lyme Regis Gig Club is a Registered Charity - No 1174427
