Manchester | Community Support & Development
The Manchester YMCA was established in 1846 and is one of the oldest YMCA's in the world. We are proud to advocate the needs of the most vulnerable and marginalised young people, and are committed to piloting new projects which engage young people and allow them to find their voice within their communities.
Why the community needs usWe are proud to offer consistent and holistic support to young people who are often hidden from view and at risk of social and educational exclusion. Current projects include 'Inspiring Futures' which provides intensive personal and social development support for young carers not in education employment or training (NEET), and our 'Being Well Salford' project which aims to address the health and wellbeing needs of young people from some of the cities most deprived areas.
Our impact on the communityOver 3,000 people with ages ranging from 6 months to 80 plus regularly benefit from accessing the wide range of facilities, classes and programmes available.
