MASH helps women who sex work to empower themselves and build new lives. Each year we help hundreds of women. But there is a lot more work to be done and every day we help women trapped in poverty and addiction, suffering from violence, with mental health issues, anxious about debts or worried about where they are going to sleep that night.
Why the community needs us
Through our MASH centre and mobile drop-in vehicle we provide a safe, non-judgemental service to keep women safe and empower them to make choices about their lives. Our support ranges from sexual health screenings, providing clean injecting equipment and counselling sessions to creative writing and photography workshops.
Our impact on the community
We support more than 700 women per year. One woman said; "MASH has been a constant for me and the team has helped me get to where I am today. I rave about MASH to whoever will listen! They are amazing. I call them my 'trusted support circle.' Whenever you come into contact with MASH you get that feeling that everyone cares"
