Mastersport and Play Community Interest Company Developing an Active Community.

Aim is to carry out sport and physical activities that benefit the community providing opportunities for participation and encourage excellence for the local and wider community of East Sussex. To focus on activity for older people and people with disabilities in rural areas. To provide sports activities and summer fun days for young people across East Sussex.

Why the community needs us
We provide activities for disabled young people that enable them to be included in sports such as Angling, Boccia and Basketball. We work with young people that are sometimes excluded from sport either through cost or access. We deliver Angling and the Environment Courses enabling young people to learn about the sport and how to look after the coastal habitat.

Our impact on the community
We have worked with many children over the last few years enabling them to enjoy participating in sport gaining confidence with other peers and adults and developing independence. Taking young people on short breaks angling has been very rewarding with many of the disabled young people never having been away from home overnight.

Volunteers needed

We require volunteers to assist with development of the Angling Hub on Bexhill seafront and support with youth activities during school holidays. The work at the hub will be practical ie painting, cleaning servicing the boats and engines etc.
