Our role is to provide a safe, secure, relaxed and uplifting environment for financially and socially disadvantaged groups, families, carers and individuals to have self catering respite breaks from the most deprived urban areas of Greater Manchester, Salford and Stockport. We facilitate training and development for our visitors e.g. youth groups to improve their employability through planned exercises and team building days. Families are referred by other Charities and Social Services.

Our visitors are the needy families, groups, carers and individuals from the deprived areas of the inner cities of Greater Manchester, Salford, and Stockport. Everyone who stays at Mellor goes away feeling they are worth something in life and more able to cope for a little while longer with their memories of a happy time to sustain them. Funded groups come for educational purposes, learning interview techniques, job applications and CV writing. Family groups learn budgeting, and family welfare.
