METALIDADS is a mental health support network for dads wo are bonded by our love for Rock and Heavy Metal music.
Mainly based in Barry, Cardiff and throughout South Wales, we exist as a support bubble for dads of all ages, stages and experiences to quash the illusion of masculinity that hinders many dads during their parental journey and to get dads talking about their well-being and other topics under the umbrella of mental health and self-care. Our musical taste of Rock & Metal and our alternative interests are used to create a safe, informal and caring space for dads to engage with and ask difficult questions/advice on delicate topics such as depression, anxiety, bereavement, separation and many other issues.
As a way to engage our members with the conversations on progressive parenting and mental health, we host numerous events in Barry from litter picks, pop up chats, family days out and fundraising for local initiatives.
