Little Horwood | Environment
Mia's Wood is a small woodland in Buckinghamshire where children and young people can enjoy nature experiences.
Mia's Wood provides inspirational natural spaces for the local communities of Milton Keynes and Buckinghamshire to enjoy. These woodlands will be places of beauty, love and hope for all, captivating the wonder of nature through education, recreation and conservation activities. Our activities extend from: planting trees, shrubs and plants; to woodland maintenance skills; to creating art and events based around nature, conservation and environmental sustainability.
Why the community needs us
Mia's Wood exists to pass on Mia's love of nature to local families, children and young people, and especially to bereaved families. At Mia's Wood, we want to create an environment which promotes an innocent wonder of nature, to stimulate curiosity and imagination, to encourage children to preserve our fragile natural woodland through both visits and special events. For bereaved families in particular, we would like to think that visits to Mia's Wood will provide both hope and solace.
Our impact on the community
Mia's Wood is a local charity, set up by Mia's family & friends. It is a woodland where children and young people can experience and learn about the natural world around them. We support Forest Schools, nature visits, and other groups seeking to support children and young people in their understanding of nature.
