Middleton Elderly Aid is a registered charity and was established in October 1989 and is one of the Leeds Neighborhood Network Schemes. Our aims are to promote independence through a range of activities and services. We identify and address social isolation and promote safety and security. We also offer benefits advice, assisting with completing forms and help in liaising with other agencies. We offer a free handyman service, quarterly newsletters and monthly assisted trips and outings.

Why the community needs us

Middleton Elderly Aid runs a social center for older people. 5 days per week we offer a warm lunch every day, and run the following clubs, Jigsaw Club, Model club, Walking Stick Making, Jam Making, Knitting and Crochet, Craft Group, Dance Group, Baking Club, Terrarium and seasonal gift making. Trips and outings and a 5 day assisted annual holiday each year. Middleton Elderly Aid offers a free befriending and home visit scheme.

Our impact on the community

-We subsidise each luncheon club by up to £51 per day, 5 luncheon clubs per week £255, over 49 weeks a year the cost to us is £12,495- Room Hire costs over £7000 per year.- Out Reach workers carry out a minimum of 336 home visits per year.-Each week we make over 200 cups of tea and coffee, that's around 9800 per year! And they are all FREE!!- We offer a FREE handyman service to our older people for the small jobs around the home.
