Mixenden Parent's Resource Centre aims to help promote the care and upbringing of children in the Mixenden Estate and surrounding area in Halifax. We provide opportunities for the practice and teaching of high standards of care for children by parents and other people and organisations. We organise open conferences and seminars on topics of educational value connected with the care and upbringing of children.

Mixenden Parents Resource Centre's principles are based on equality and empowerment for the residents of Mixenden. We do this by the provision of a children's creche, welfare, debt advice, Counselling, a range of educational classes including Computer skills, Basic Maths and English, Lunch Club, Support Groups and other activities. The centre aims to provide the means for local people to have access to employment and arrange self-help ultimately raising the self-esteem of the local residents.

Mixenden Prents Resource Centre is equipping local people with the skills they need to make informed and positive life choices. We help people manage debt and benefit problems, accompanying them all the way through the processes and providing emergency help when necessary. Our nursery provides year-round affordable care, including a playsceheme in the school holidays. Over 120 people have gained qualifications through the Centre helping with employment prospects and enroling in college courses.
