The MK Melting Pot - A Place of Refuge

MK Melting Pot is a not for profit company that engages with the diverse communities living in Milton Keynes. We aim to celebrate cultures and promote the values they hold. We work with individuals from areas of the community that are hard to reach including children and young people, low income families, BAME groups, lone parents, and the long term unemployed; engaging people in activities, providing support and helping bring communities together. Recent projects have included community slow cooking classes, wellbeing cafes, employability workshops, and summer activity programmes for children from deprived areas.

In all that we do, we seek to raise the awareness of the needs and aspirations of our diverse community, and help empower them, to make Milton Keynes a thriving and vibrant city to live.

Why the community needs us
All donations will help play a crucial role in our weekly activities, most importantly, providing much needed food supplies to underprivileged families during the year. Families in our community are struggling to afford the necessities, and we want vulnerable households to no longer have to worry about having an empty cupboard or fridge.

Which is why your help will contribute to covering costs associated with purchasing supplies for our food parcels, which includes food items to support people from diverse cultural backgrounds, whose needs are often underrepresented at mainstream foodbanks.

Our impact on the community
We support over a 100 people with our food parcels. Our foodbank is run from our Wellbeing Space, a safe haven and place of refuge for people who are isolated, struggle with their mental health or have lost connection with the community around them.
