Milton Keynes Play Association champions the right of children to play freely and imaginatively, supporting their social, imaginative, physical, emotional and communicational development by providing direct play opportunities. Advice, professional training and practical resources are provided for those working with children.
Why the community needs usMKPA supports play and the development of play within the communities of Milton Keynes and the surrounding area. We support all types of community groups from pre-schools, after school clubs, uniformed and faith groups, to ensure that children have the best quality play experiences and that those experiences are child centred. MKPA delivers direct play provision in the summer and Easter school holidays. We deliver around 300 play sessions in 50 localities around the city.
Our impact on the communityPlay is crucial to our children's development. Through play they learn to assess and manage risk, they use their imaginations and hone their creative skills. They build their friendships and their social skills.
We are always pleased to welcome volunteers to work alongside our staff in different roles; playwork, working in our Scrapstore and shop or with the administration of the organisation.
