N-Gage is a Manchester based Christian Charity that gives young people at risk of educational or social exclusion, opportunities and skills to achieve their full potential.Working in partnership with Schools, Local Police and City Council we provide highly successful, flexible and targeted approaches to anti-social behaviour and educational exclusion. Step Up is a schools inclusion programme that encourages attendees to work through many of the issues affecting their education and behaviour.

Benefits are both short and long term. We encourage referred pupils back into their classrooms with increased respect for education and authority. We aim to break the cycle of lack of aspiration and the prevention of young people becoming another NEET statistic. The long term benefit to society is to have young people educated and in work and not dependant on benefits. Taking young people off the streets at night reduces incidents of anti-social behaviour and increases respect for communities.

In the last seven years hundreds of young people have been referred to our Schools inclusion programme. We have evidence from the head teachers that the majority have returned to their classrooms with improved respect thus reducing exclusion and truancy levels.Parents have reported a positive response at home. In just six months over 800 young people have attended the Youth Resource Vehicle and the police report a decrease in incidents of anti-social behaviour.
