Northampton | Arts, Culture & Heritage
NMTC aims to promote arts and culture to the community through musical plays and concerts. We also look to encourage young people to become involved with the performing arts. We have a Concert Group who are able to reach people who normally are not able to attend theatre performances. Each year, NMTC raises funds for charity, our main beneficiary being Northampton Association for the Blind but we have also given to other individual causes.
Why the community needs usWe put on a very high standard, show each year, bringing musical theatre to Northampton. Each of our shows raises money for a local charity as well, with our main beneficiary being Northampton Association for the Blind, whose premises we use for rehearsal.
Our impact on the communityNMTC has won awards in several categories for the annual NODA (National Operatic and Dramatic Association) Awards: Our 2010 production, Jesus Christ Superstar, won trophies for: Best Programme, Best Poster, Best Show for Northampton, and Best Show for the East Midlands! We repeated this with our 2012 show, Whistle Down the Wind, winning Best Poster, and Best Show for the East Midlands!
