We will host Britain's biggest and best ever 'No Limits Disability Festival' in Barnsley from 4th-12th July 2020. It will celebrate disabled people and their contribution to life in Barnsley: as workers, family, volunteers, friends, neighbours, entrepreneurs, artists, performers, athletes, and professionals. It will create a sense of Pride in disability, and help change people's understanding, recognising there should be No Limits put in the way of disabled people and what they can achieve.
Why the community needs usThe festival will help disabled people in Barnsley (who make up one in four of the local population) to be proud, celebrating the contribution they make to the life of the borough. Disabled people will be empowered to plan and organise the festival, to take part as performers and audiences, to enjoy the accessible and inclusive events and activities with their friends and families. Every event will help to encourage people to think a bit differently about disability and disabled people.
Our impact on the communityThere will be something for everyone (exhibitions, theatre, dance, sports, circus, music, walks, games, talks, conferences and much more), at every major venue in the borough (The Civic, Cooper Gallery, Elsecar Heritage Centre, Cannon Hall, Experience Barnsley, Worsborough Mill and many more)
