Norfolk Community Foundation aims to create a culture of giving that will change people's lives by linking donors with those in need. We are a grant making organisation that awards grants to local community groups and projects that are in real need of funding and that will make a real difference to Norfolk and people they serve. We offer a range of giving options, ensuring that even the smallest donation can contribute to significant grant making through our Love Norfolk fund.
Why the community needs usFor many, especially vulnerable or isolated people, it is the work of volunteers in the community that makes a real difference to quality of life, and it is this grassroots activity that our funds seek to support. Our Love Norfolk fund brings together donations of all sizes from a wide range of donors from which grants are delivered to a range of causes reflecting the needs of our county, informed by our research and understanding of emerging local need. The fund awards grants of up to £3,000.
Our impact on the communityIn 2014, the Love Norfolk Fund supported 86 community groups in Norfolk, with grants worth a total of £154,497. A range of charitable activity was awarded funding, from play equipment and village hall improvements, to youth clubs and day care centres for the elderly. The panel making the decisions for the Fund are formed from Foundation trustees and independent representatives from the voluntary sector, health, police and other services whose expertise ensures funding reaches those in most need.
