The aims and objectives of NCAC are: To bring a high quality carnival - costumes, music, performances, etc. - to Northampton. To foster, encourage and promote an understanding and appreciation of carnival with a multi-cultural flavour. To increase the accessibility of Northampton carnival to the population of Northamptonshire. To provide a meaningful liaison between NCAC and groups, institutions, and organisations (local, national and international) with similar objectives.

Why the community needs us

The event is growing. The Parade in June, is the central part of Carnival, and over the years Northampton Carnival Arts Consortium has attracted a huge range of participants. Schools, community groups, football clubs, keep fit groups, musicians and many many others. Some organisations have formed Carnival Clubs of their own, and share their space with others. The developing Carnival is used as a vehicle for groups to promote other major activities in their year

Our impact on the community

Carnival - a true source of community cohesion. Carnival - unity through the arts 1000 plus people in the Parade. 10,000 plus people in the audience. 5 charities benefiting by collecting on the day. Results in groups participating in other events during the year. Builds relationships with other groups from far afield including London, Luton, Bedford, Oxford.... Through workshops and other activities skills and capacities are grown that are used as a resource for others and in other events.
