What is Norwich Pride?
Norwich Pride is a celebration of LGBTQIA+ people. Our mission is to ensure we live in a city where everyone can feel safe and proud to be themselves. Our event is held on the last Saturday of July each year.
What happens at Norwich Pride?
Every year thousands of people join us to march through the city centre to celebrate diversity. We have stalls in The Forum providing information on services and support networks for the community, a maker's market in Chantry car park where you can buy arts and crafts directly from local LGTBQIA+ artists and makers.
Our main stage is in Chapelfield Gardens, showcasing local, national, and international LGBTQIA+ talent. We have a DJ booth in the bar area, and a wide range of street food and other stalls in the park too.
We have an annual Art exhibition in The Assembly House, and our popular Question Time event, and our Natasha Curson Memorial Trans talk are held in The Gallery at The Forum, with a street party on Theatre Street, and a youth stage on Millennium Plain.
Who pays for Norwich Pride?
Norwich Pride is free to attend, so every penny spent on delivering the event has to be raised by fundraising, sponsorship, and by selling advertising and stalls.
Community fundraising is wonderful, we love it when brilliant people, businesses, and organisations across Norwich support us with a fundraising event. A fine example is James Lupson, who ran the 2022 Norwich 10K and raised over £600 for us. Thank you, James!
If you are thinking of creating an event or want to be sponsored for something to raise money for Norwich Pride you can link your event to our local giving page, so we receive gift aid on the money you raise.
