OSARCC are a group of women of all ages and backgrounds who are committed to supporting survivors of rape, sexual abuse, domestic violence, harassment and other forms of sexual violence. We exist to provide support services and promote the needs of those who have experienced sexual violence and the people who are supporting them. We are working towards the elimination of sexual violence, and are affiliated with Rape Crisis (England and Wales).
Why the community needs usWe offer free, confidential and non-judgmental services to those who are dealing with the effects of recent and/or past sexual violence. This includes telephone, email and text support, advocacy, counselling and group work, and work in schools around consent and healthy relationships. We also provide training and information for professionals.
Our impact on the communityIn 2017-18 we supported 112 individuals across our face to face services, responded to more than 600 helpline calls providing 228 hours of helpline support, and sent 267 support emails. We also worked with more than 2800 young people in schools, raising awareness of consent and healthy relationships. Service users describe our work as 'lifesaving'.
