We do this by helping people access support and resources and bringing people together to help grow resilient, inclusive communities.  

Why the community needs us 

We help make positive change by listening, responding to need, encouraging policy makers to do the same, and making connections between people and their community. 

Our Village Agents are friendly local experts that listen without judging and connect people with the right support, no matter what the problem; food, fuel, transport, health or housing.  

The support and advice they give, out in the community or at our Talking Cafes, helps people to help themselves when life is challenging. We encourage and provide opportunities for communities to come together to support and learn from each other, to improve the quality of life for Somerset residents. 

Our impact  

Last year we supported over 10,000 people in Somerset through our Village Agents, Somerset Carers, Diverse Communities and Community Buildings services. Our support helps people avoid isolation, keep warm, put food on the table, find housing and connect with their community.
