Pembroke Dock Heritage Trust supports local heritage and community through education and events.
Pembroke Dock Heritage Trust operates Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre. The Heritage Centre is a community facility caring for collections of historic objects, and helping our community and visitors to the area to understand the important history of Pembroke Dock. The town is Wales' only Royal Dockyard, and later became the largest flying boat station in the world during the Second World War Battle of the Atlantic.
Why the community needs us
We work with a team of almost 80 volunteers, helping people to understand and feel pride in Pembroke Dock's unique heritage. We work with the local community and schools, we welcome families and we seek to generate tourism and economic growth in the town. The Heritage Centre and grounds are a hub for events and activities bringing local people together. We welcome international visitors with military links to the town, and we provide a venue for businesses and community groups to come together.
Our impact on the community
Donations support our work with historic items such as those recovered from the Sunderland T9044. They also enable us to continue our important work with the community in Pembroke Dock. This includes work with local and regional organisations, in caring for and sharing our heritage, in providing volunteer placements and back-to-work schemes, as well as giving educational opportunities for schools and families and a range of other benefits to the people of Pembroke Dock and the wider community.
