Peasmarsh | Community Support & Development
The Peasmarsh Memorial Hall is now over 85 years old and has served Peasmarsh well. It still provides a place for people to meet and enjoy different activities but the years have now taken their toll and it is in need of urgent repair. We need to raise funds to carry out a complete refurbishment of the hall to bring it up-to-date and fit for purpose so that it can remain a place that people can continue to enjoy and use for another 85 years
Why the community needs usPeasmarsh is a rural community with poor transport links and limited facilities. The hall currently provides a venue for the local Brownies and Girl Guides, Flying-Start Baby & Toddler Group, Dog Training Classes, Zumba Dance Classes and a Singing Group. We would also like to provide outreach medical services, training schemes, a lunch club and expanded opportunities for social interaction. A refurbished hall will give us the opportunity to provide these additional services
Our impact on the communityThe need to raise funds has resulted in the creation of a monthly newsletter, The Peasmarsh Periodical, which is distributed to every household in the village. This newsletter gives details of activities taking place not only in the hall but also the wider community this newsletter has encouraged greater participation of the villagers in village activities.
