Pelton Community Association is a registered charity whose purpose is to facilitate educational, training and leisure activities for the people of Pelton and surrounding areas. The Association occupies and manages Pelton Community Centre, which incorporates a purpose built Youth facility called Room 14 and an outside Play Area.

Community members come together through a diverse range of activities. Our groups are open to all, we find we have something for the young, old and all those in-between. Pelton comprises 3 super output areas, 2 of which are within the top 30% deprived nationally. Within these, education, employment and health are key issues. Around a third of residents have no personal transport, and therefore for elderly people and those on low incomes in particular, local services, such as ours are vital.

The work we do has made a vast improvement on the community, increasing the participation each year. Community members continue to praise the work we do, commenting on how it has improved their way of life, whether it's for health reasons, social interaction, educational reasons, and family life or creating a better community spirit amongst everyone. Anti-social behaviour has drastically improved around the area since Room 14 opened its doors to the young people which made a big difference.
