Surplus food re-distribution and provision of healthy food to those in need in Pendle

We are a food club and we source surplus food for our members and prevent it going to waste. We also buy fresh food in order to help our members eat healthily. Members pay £5 per week to get around £20 worth of food to take home. The food club helps them budget their income and provides fresh food at a low cost. The club also provides a social opportunity for members to meet and catch up with each other. We ensure surplus food does not go to waste and therefore this helps the environment by not sending waste to landfill. Why the community needs us: More and more people are facing challenging times, and the food club gives them an opportunity to buy good quality fresh food at a low price.Our impact on the community: We have around 100 regular members and helped over 1500 people over the last 3 years.

Volunteers needed

We are looking for new Trustees who have HR, fundraising and financial experience, and/or are involved in the food industry. Approximately 2 hours a week.
