Penhaligon's Friends is a Cornish charity supporting bereaved children young people, parents and carers throughout the County since 1995. We offer children and young people the chance to meet others and share their experiences, as well as practical resources for children and parents. We also deliver an extensive programme of training and advice for other childcare professionals and those interested in becoming a volunteer.
During the current pandemic we have had to think creatively about meeting needs and have developed a range of services to offer to families during this crisis.
Why the community needs usApproximately 800 children and young people each year are referred for support following the death of a relative or friend. We are able to offer timely and appropriate support based on each child's needs.
During the current pandemic bereaved children need our support more than ever, to help them to make sense of their losses.
Our impact on the community
Our charity works closely with schools, colleges and children's services to ensure that each bereaved child or young person feels supported and acknowledged through their grief journey.
