We supply pet food to people and pets in need. With the aim of breaking the poverty cycle of people sharing their human food with their pets, causing the owners to suffer from malnutrition. Reducing the impact of poverty. The relief of mental anguish of being unable to afford to feed their pet or worse having to give up their furry family members to a shelter. Sadly, we are seeing more and more people in work unable to afford to feed their pets.
Service user quotes:
“I fed my dog pasta, I know it’s no good for my dog, but I had nothing else”
“I would never give up my dog; he’s my life. He barks whenever anyone approaches the tent, I feel safer because of this. I prefer my dog over humans, and he’s my best mate, I couldn’t be without him”.
“Thank you for the dog food. We worry when we can’t afford food for our boy, he’s part of our family”
“I’ve sometimes not eaten to make sure my pets have food, Pet foodbank service is a lifeline for all of us to eat well”.
Unfortunately, we experiencing quadruple the normal demand for our services has this year. With even greater demand predicted later on this year.
We are based in Barry Vale of Glamorgan, where we collect and sort pet food which we then deliver to our 26 outlets across South Wales.
We also run a community pop up shop to help the local community with anything from pet items to household items all priced cheaper than most charity shops. The funds raised go towards our rent costs.
We have provided 223,252 pet meals since 2018.
