Provide financial and in-kind support to residents of the local Phoenix Futures houses
We are a group of local people who actively support those undertaking the rehabilitation program at Phoenix Futures to end their dependency on drugs and/or alcohol. We meet at the local Phoenix houses 6 times a year when we affirm the progress of residents and hear ideas put forward by residents and staff for activities to aid residents' recovery. We make financial grants for sport, education, outdoor working, goods for new home, tools and training to aid employment opportunities.
Why the community needs usWe add to the overall therapeutic effect of the Phoenix Futures programme by giving encouragement and cash grants to residents to undertake extra activities recommended by their key worker so as to enhance that person's care plan and ultimately change their life to one free from dependency on drugs and/or alcohol. Those completing their rehabilitation become valuable role models, advocates of recovery and positive contributors to society.
Our impact on the communityPhoenix Association is highly regarded in the local community as having been constant in it's support for residents and staff for the past 32 years. We continue to have the privilege of representing the local community as it stands beside residents, offering support and encouragement to them as they rebuild their lives.
