We're a dedicated group of enthusiasts committed to preserving and celebrating the history of miniature railways in South Wales, with a particular focus on bringing a miniature railway back to Porthcawl and preserving surviving artefacts from the original railway.
The original Porthcawl Miniature Railway was built in 1935 and ran for a quarter-mile through Salt Lake from Coney Beach to Pier End. Two locomotives were built for the line - Silver Jubilee, built in 1935 and named for the jubilee of George V, and her sister Coney Queen built a year later. The line ran for 51 years before closing in 1986, though much of the track bed remains.
As a group, we committed to preserving the re-building a miniature railway somewhere in Porthcawl, and restoring the last surviving locomotive, Silver Jubilee, to operational condition to run on it.
