Promise Inclusion is a local charity that supports people with learning disabilities and their carers.
Promise Inclusion is a local charity providing support and services to people with learning disabilities and/or autism and their family carers in Wokingham and Bracknell Forest Boroughs.
We provide support to carers of children and adults through our Family Liaison Service. Our Family Liaison Team can help with both emotional and practical support such as with benefits, form filling, support in meetings, information on subjects such as housing, supported living, transition, schools and colleges, EHCPs, mental capacity, power of attorney, deputyship and more. We also run monthly coffee mornings/lunches for carers, offer respite activities and information workshops.
We run several evening social groups for adults and young people with learning disabilities in Wokingham and Bracknell, giving them the chance to make new friends and try new activities in a relaxed and suitable location.
In Wokingham we have a youth club that meet each week during term time and @theAcorn group for adults, who meet each week and have a variety of activities on offer and in Bracknell we have BSG (Bracknell Social Group) who meet at various locations in the area for social activities such as swimming, nature walks, pub meals and drinks, games and party nights.
Our Gateway Group (similar to the Duke of Edinburgh award) runs during the day offering life skills opportunities to adults with learning disabilities and/or autism.
We also run 2 youth groups for siblings (aged 8-13) called Smiles for Sibs. The focus of the Sibs Group is to provide a fun, social environment, where children/young people can spend time away from the “ups and downs” of life with a brother or sister with a learning disability and or autism.
We are part of the Wokingham Carers Partnership offering support to carers, a variety of carers groups and help planning for emergencies and with Carers assessments.
