Our Queen's Award winning charity has been supporting victims of rape and sexual abuse since 1992. Our mission is two-fold. Firstly to walk alongside survivors of rape and sexual abuse so that they can recover from the trauma they have experienced and begin to rebuild their lives. Secondly, to work within our community to educate and inform so that members are better able to understand the scale and severity of the problem and to be empathetic towards the plight of victims in need.
Why the community needs us
We support all survivors of rape and sexual abuse who are aged 13 and above. Based in the heart of Guildford, we cover the whole of Surrey and its surrounding areas. We are staffed by a highly trained team of dedicated professionals and supported by committed team of volunteers who work tirelessly to support victims to break-free from the abuse they have suffered and reach their true potential.
Our impact on the community
Last year: 429 new referrals were made into our ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Advisor) service. We took 1484 calls on our Telephone Helpline service. We undertook 166 counselling assessments, which resulted in 4032 individual counselling sessions being provided. We celebrated 25 years of service to our community and received the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service which is equivalent to the MBE for the voluntary sector.
