Reading | Community Support & Development
The aims of Citizens Advice Reading are to give free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to any member of the community. We provide the advice that people need for the problems that they face and work to improve the policies and practices that affect people's lives by recognising inequality and influencing national and local policy makers.
Why the community needs us
Citizens Advice Reading provides specialist advice on debt, benefits, energy and cost of living issues.
For millions of people in the UK, and thousands of people in Reading, the cost-of-living crisis is putting them through a nightmare they never thought they’d experience. As energy bills hit sky-high levels and costs continue to rise, families are struggling to make ends meet.
It’s stressful, isolating and frightening.
At Citizens Advice Reading we can help guide people through this crisis. Our trained advisers give information and advice that empowers people to find a way forward and make ends meet. We’re here to listen and ensure they’re not alone.
But we’re a charity. And we can only do this with support.
Our staff and volunteers are working flat out to help people, but there’s still many who find it difficult to get through to us. And we need to make sure they have somewhere to turn. By donating to Citizens Advice Reading you could help provide a lifeline for someone and make sure an adviser can give them the support they need to find a way forward.
Will you show someone in crisis they aren’t alone?
