Citizens Advice Reading offers free advice on various issues and influences policy to aid the community.
Citizens Advice Reading aims to give free, independent, confidential and impartial advice to any member of the local community. We provide the advice that people need for the problems that they face. We also work to improve the policies and practices that affect people's lives by recognising inequality and influencing national and local policy makers.
Why the community needs us
We provide advice on debt, benefits, energy, housing and many other issues people face on a daily basis. For millions of people in the UK, and thousands of people in Reading, the cost-of-living crisis is having a huge impact. As energy bills hit sky-high levels and costs continue to rise, people are struggling to make ends meet.
It’s stressful, isolating and frightening.
At Citizens Advice Reading we can help guide people through this crisis. Our trained advisers give information and advice that empowers people to find a way forward and make ends meet. We’re here to listen and ensure they’re not alone.
But we’re a charity. And we can only do this with support.
Our staff and volunteers work flat out to help people, but there’s still many more who need help. And we need to make sure they have somewhere to turn. By donating to Citizens Advice Reading you could help provide a lifeline for someone and make sure an adviser can give them the support they need to find a way forward.
Will you show someone in crisis they aren’t alone?
Our impact on the community
In the last financial year, we supported over 7,000 local people with 45,000 issues. Of the clients we asked 94% would recommend our service and 90% said that we helped them find a way forward. Please help us continue to support individuals and communities across Reading. Thank you
