Over the last year, at Ready Generations, we have helped design and deliver a range of services that bring generations together by promoting health, wellbeing, vibrant neighbourhoods and better living for everyone! Our work is predominantly in the North West of England although we have projects that reach out nationally.
Our aim is to raise the profile and importance of dignified care models that promote independence, resilience and choice at every age and stage of life. We build from the simple principles of:
SEE ME
HEAR ME
KNOW ME
We believe this relational approach of mutual aid helps to combat loneliness, builds resilience and develops relationships that make a real difference to people's lives and sense of identity and agency.
The words of Pema Chodron illustrate how we listen and respond to what people bring from their lived experience:
Compassion is not a relationship between the wounded and the healed. It is a relationship of equals.
