We aim to REBUILD the confidence, skills and potential of LOCAL people by supporting them in their journey to employability through volunteering, training and work experience. We aim to REVITALISE the LOCAL economy by creating sustainable employment opportunities and by providing quality affordable furniture to families who are attempting to maximise their incomes in a low wage economy. We aim to REVIVE the LOCAL environment by reusing, repurposing and recycling as many resources as possible
Why the community needs usDonated goods are passed on to a mix of clients who may be vulnerable families or individuals, including lone parents, armed forces veterans re-starting their lives, re-housed homeless people, victims of domestic violence, people with special needs, the elderly and many more. RE>BUILD offers volunteering opportunities to a wide section of the local community, including people with special needs, young people, people with mental health issues, armed forces veterans and more.
Our impact on the communityIn the year 2015-16 we provided affordable furniture to 1550 families; trained 27 lone parents and 27 refugees to help them to integrate into the workforce; supported 29 volunteers; helped 13 individuals into employment; provided low cost paint to 61 households; diverted tonnes of furniture from landfill, including reusable items from the Radcliffe waste site; and made bird boxes, garden planters and bird tables from reclaimed wood.
