Supporting the heritage restoration, nature conservation and community asset that is Brompton Cemetery for future generations. The Royal Parks Foundation is currently fundraising £500,000 for the beautiful Brompton Cemetery in order unlock funding from the Heritage and Big Lottery 'Parks for People' Programme. We are just over half way there ! We are inviting the local community to help us get to the finish line so that work can begin later this year helping us create a better Brompton.
Why the community needs usAccess to green space, especially in built up urban areas like south west London is often in short supply but is vital for health and wellbeing. With over 700,000 annual visitors Brompton Cemetery provides an oasis of tranquillity for wildlife and a glimpse of the past in the heart of the nation's capital. We would like to share historic Brompton's wealth of stories, protect natural habitats and enhance the visitor experience with the creation of a new Welcome Centre and Community Programme.
Our impact on the communityThe restoration of over 1,000 historic monuments ... the conservation of the Grade II* listed Chapel ... a new Welcome Centre at North Lodge... a year round Community and Volunteer Programme ... Nature Conservation and Horticultural Apprenticeships ... Connecting local residents and visitors with Brompton's rich history to learn and celebrate this place for people and space for nature ... With your help we can create a beautiful future for Brompton Cemetery.
