Supporting families after child loss and families whose children may face an uncertain future, by providing a place to Relax, Recharge, Remember and Rebuild.
Reuben’s Retreat was born out of the tragic loss of Reuben Michael Graham in August 2012. Reuben was just 23 months old when he passed away in his mummy's arms from an inoperable brain tumour. His family launched the charity just two days later with the vision of helping families like theirs and to ensure that his short, but precious life wasn’t in vain.
Our mission is to relieve the distress of families who have suffered the loss of a child or have a child living with medical complexities. We provide peer led monthly support groups, weekend rambles, one to one counselling and holistic therapy sessions for parents & siblings as well as regular music, art & animal therapy, bespoke memory making and memorial events. In our activity wing we provide access to our hydrotherapy suite, playroom, movie and sensory room. We also arrange bereavement breaks allowing families bereaved of a child to visit our beautiful apartment in Glossop, Derbyshire.
We are currently renovating our forever home, The Retreat in stages. When completed, it will provide a sanctuary for families to visit together and create special memories and magical moments that will last a lifetime.
Every penny donated makes a huge difference to families and helps us continue to deliver Reuben's Legacy.
